Tanto with Bo-Hi and Hagiris
Signature: Mumei.
Year Made: Late Shinto or early Shinshinto

Forging Pattern: Itame
Tempering Pattern: Gonome
Dimensions:   Nagasa12 11/16", Nakago: 4 1/2", Mihaba: 1 5/32", Kasane: 5/16", Sori: 1/4"
Mountings:  The shirasaya is a little dinged and has a crack that runs along the seam through the saya and handle.  The habaki is wood and part of the handle.
Overall Condition: The blade has Hagiris.  The polish is older and could be redone to enhance the appearance.  The bo-hi is nicely cut and deep.  Nice blade quite surprised that it has hagiris.  Perhaps it was a family heirloom that was handed down and kept in good condition for historical reasons.
