Tempering Pattern: Toran Midare
Dimensions: Blade Length: 26.25 inches
Nakago: 7.5 inches 8 mm thick and 32 mm wide at Hamachi
Mountings: '34 Pattern Shin-gunto mounts in good shape. Latch is missing. Handle appears to have be rewrapped with large nodule of samé put at wrong end. Silver washed copper habaki. Saya in leather combat cover in good condition
Overall Condition: Very good. Graceful katana with distinctive hamon in ko-nie, published in Fuller & Gregory's Oshigata book (pg. 647 oshigata 279). Nicely carved bo-hi ending maru-dome style. Good polish with light scratches, mostly in kissaki area and a small nick in the edge. Overall a chance to own a published sword and an attractive one at that. |
