Unusual Sword Cane
Signature: mumei.
Year Made:  Shinshinto/Meiji

Forging Pattern: couldn't tell.
Tempering Pattern: Gunome in nioi
Dimensions:  Blade Length:  16.812 inches  Nakago: 3 inches 7 mm thick and 17 mm wide at Hamachi
Mountings:  Wooden inlay saya and tsuka with some cracks and missing wood in the saya, plain brass fittings with a horn or ivory kashira.
Overall Condition:  Good, old polish with some scratching and light stabilized rust, nice bright gunome hamon with a maru mitsu sugata and goma bashi engraved on one side and a koshi-bi on the other. There are also small kanji on both sides but could only make out "yama" on one side. An interesting example of this kind of sword that should clean up nicely with a finish polish.
