Mountings:  WW II Navel mounts with nice same saya
Overall Condition:  The sword is in good polish with only some minor abrasions.  There are no kizu.  There are some lacquer losses on the saya but it is still quite good. The Tsuka is solid and the Ito is in excellent condition for its age.  The habaki is a one piece copper with gold plating and is nice condition.  This sword really does not need any work and everything is original.  A very nice example of an unusually long early Naval sword with samezaya.  This one looks to have been carried by the officer but was well taken care of and preserved.  While not absolutely mint, the nice even patina adds a nice rich character to its overall presence.
